Alpine hike from Davos Sertig across Fanezfurgga to Davos Monstein
A beautiful alpine hike passing through lush larix forest, across species-rich alpine meadows and scree slopes, and ending in a rustic mountain village. There will be approximately 700 metres of elevation gain and 900 metres of elevation loss, on mountain trails with about 4h of hiking time with plenty of breaks to learn about the area. In case of late snow or adverse weather conditions, an alternative route will be chosen by the guide.
- Guide: Sonja Wipf, local plant ecology researcher and botanist
- Duration: morning to mid-afternoon, with option to extend to late afternoon for individual participants
- What to bring: hiking boots, clothing adapted to potentially fast changing mountain weather (for sun, rain and cold), a sufficient level of fitness for 2.5h of intermediate to steep uphill hike, picnic and snacks, >2l of drinks, hiking poles if you are used to them
- Costs: 30.- Euro, registration through the registration platform required
- Starting point: Davos Sertig, Walserhuus – public transort from Davos Platz train station at 7.02 or 8.32 (to be specified), return from Monstein by public transport with earliest arrival in Davos Platz train station at 16.16. Later for participants wanting to check out the local brewery and shop. The bus tickets are partly covered by your Davos guest card that comes with your hotel booking.
- Participation: the minimum number of participants is 15, the maximum number is 22. Insurance is the responsibility of the participants.
